Mar. 5--Siam Gypsum Industry Co (SGI), Thailand's biggest gypsum board manufacturer and exporter, has lost 20 percent of its exports because of high anti-dumping duties on products shipped to South Africa.
Managing director Olivier Guilluy said South Africa was the major export market of SGI, accounting for about four million square metres of the 25 million sq m of boards the company shipped abroad last year. But since October, the company has faced an anti-dumping suit, resulting in a 91 percent higher tariff collected on its gypsum boards in South Africa.
