Mar. 5--A total of 173 listed companies have announced plans to pay dividends of 91.29 billion baht for their 2003 operations, according to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
Dividends represent 42.71 percent of net profits for the companies announcing payouts.
The SET said dividend yields overall averaged 2.47 percent, with the pulp and paper sector averaging the highest yield at 11.67 percent, followed by jewellery and ornaments at 5.38 percent, and entertainment at 5.23 percent.
Out of 420 companies listed on the SET and Market for Alternative Investment, 415 have submitted 2003 financial statements.
