Jan. 29--ROSELAND, N.J. -- Eagle Recycling Inc., a New York sanitation firm, emerged as the likely new operator of a North Bergen waste transfer station that went on the auction block Wednesday after its owners defaulted on their business loans and ceased operations in November.

Eagle's offer, one of two tendered for the sprawling Dell Avenue recycling and transfer station, was judged to be the highest and best bid by lawyers for cash-strapped brothers Patrick and Ronald Stamato and their chief creditors.
