Videos to support new Barbie, Bratz lines.(hardlines)
The battle for market supremacy between Barbie and Bratz will escalate later this summer when both Mattel and MGA Entertainment release new product lines and movies based on their bestselling dolls.
MGA is teaming up with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment to release the first Bratz movie "Bratz: The Video--Starrin' and Stylin'" on Aug. 3. The video will include a one-hour animated feature film based on the antics of Yasmin, Jade, Sasha and Cloe and bonus extras.
But the newest wave of Bratz dolls and accessories due in late September won't have any connection with the first film in what MGA expects to be a video franchise. "The timing of the video will help …
