Mar. 16--UPLAND, Calif. -- Putting a price tag on cleaner air may seem like a tall order, but Edith Victoria found out firsthand on Monday just how much it costs.

That price: $2.079 per gallon for regular unleaded at the Vons gas station on Foothill Boulevard in Upland.

"It's pretty high, especially if you're a student," Victoria said. "I have to get where I need to go. I can't do as much as I want because the prices are so high."

Fortunately for Victoria, an Ontario resident who works at an Upland restaurant and goes to school four days a week at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, gas prices have leveled out at an …
