Thailand Seen As Link to India, Middle East.

Apr. 1--Japanese companies are looking at using Thailand as a production base not only for Asean but as a conduit to export goods to India and the Middle East based on the recent signing of free trade area (FTA) agreements.
Atsuo Kuroda, president of the Bangkok office of the Japan External Trade Organisation, said Japanese investors operating here were paying more attention to FTA pacts among Asean and India adding that Thailand, which has the largest production base among the member nations of Asean, could be used as a base to distribute goods or extend business to India and markets in the Middle East.
