Former Governors Urge Review of Listing Thai Power Utility on Stock Exchange.
Apr. 1--Eighteen former governors and top executives of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand yesterday called on the government to reconsider plans to list the power utility on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
The statement comes as Egat is to formally register as a public listed company today, a key step towards eventual privatisation.
Thousands of state enterprise employees have vowed to rally at the Commerce Ministry today to block the registration process
The former Egat governors that attending a meeting to come out against the listing plans include Kasem Chatikavanij, Paopachara Chavanalikikorn, Somboon Manenava, Veeravat Chalayon and Wittaya Kocharak.
