Apr. 1--The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand plans to invest at least 2.3 billion baht on a plan to connect private stand-by generators to the national power grid to ensure long-term power security and reduce the need for new power plants.
Energy Minister Prommin Lertsuridej said the programme to hook up private generators to Egat's existing infrastructure could reduce future investment costs by as much as 20 billion baht.
