Apr. 1--Thailand should pursue a single-visa strategy and joint promotions with Vietnam to encourage more investment in both countries, says Thailand's Board of Trade.
Phairush Burapachaisri, a member of the board's executive, said the Board of Investment (BoI) would back an initiative allowing streamlined visas for businessmen travelling between Thailand, Vietnam and other new Asean members including Cambodia, Burma, and Laos.
Already, the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec) forum offers an Apec business card which permits visa-free travel for cardholders in the group's 21 member countries.
