Apr. 1--A Thai-New Zealand free trade area agreement is expected to be sealed by the first quarter of 2005 and become effective in 2006, according to Karun Kittisataporn, the commerce permanent secretary.
A joint feasibility study conducted by the two countries on the agreement has been completed and the results would be released to the public soon, said Mr Karun, who is serving as Thailand's chief negotiator for the pact.
He made these comments following a meeting with his counterpart, Rachel Fry from New Zealand.
