Apr. 1--Around 2.37 million credit cards were held by cardholders with a monthly income under 15,000 baht at the end of 2003, according to new data released by the Bank of Thailand.
Under new regulations announced on Monday by the central bank, cardholders must have either a minimum monthly income of 15,000 baht or sufficient cashflow over the previous six months to cover risk. Previous regulations only stated that banks could consider cash flow or deposits in evaluating card applications.
