Apr. 3--Thai stocks rose 3.16 percent yesterday with the heaviest volume in weeks on heavy buying by foreign investors and the state-run Vayupak Fund.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand index closed at 693.12 points, up 21.2 points, in trade worth 41 billion baht. The SET50 index of large-cap stocks rose 2.92 percent to 46.45 points.
Foreign investors were net buyers of 4.7 billion baht worth of securities, a sharp turnaround after weeks of steady selling. For the year to date, foreign investors have been net sellers of 24.6 billion baht in stocks.
