Apr. 3--The governor and board of directors of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand tendered their resignations yesterday, taking responsibility for the failure of management to control employee protests over the past month against the utility's privatisation plan.
Cherdpong Siriwit, the Energy Ministry permanent secretary and Egat chairman, said the resignations would enable the government to appoint a new board and governor.
However, he denied that the government had exerted pressure on the board to step down.
