Apr. 3--Etihad Airways, the newly created national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), makes its inaugural flight from Bangkok to London today, setting the stage for its plans to make the Thai capital its Southeast Asian hub.
With the commencement of four flights a week from Bangkok to London, the Abu Dhabi state-owned carrier aims to shortly add Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Manila to its Southeast Asian network by using Bangkok as a platform.
