Apr. 2-- TAKING ON THE CYBERSQUATTERS: A domain name, simply, is the "address" of a Web site. Internet users need only type the domain name, for example www.hotmail.com, into a Web browser and they are able to reach the desired Web site.
Domain name disputes take place mainly due to the registration of two or more domain names that are identical or confusingly similar to existing trade names or trademarks. Those who register domain names acting in bad faith, popularly known as "cybersquatters", have no intention of using such domain names for any specific business, their motive being only to make a profit from selling them to trademark owners or speculators.
