2004 JUL 1 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Strattera (atomoxetine HCl), approved for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), significantly reduced symptoms of ADHD for the full day in the first systematic study of Strattera treatment in community practice.
Data presented at the 157th annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association showed the effect of nonstimulant ADHD treatment in an open-label clinical trial, where patients knew what medications they were taking.
"Treating ADHD is more than just reducing core symptoms, it is also about alleviating the impact of the disorder on the patient's life, including the family," said Calvin Sumner, MD, Lilly Research Labs, Eli Lilly and Company.
