Apr. 5--The board of CAT Telecom has approved a 20 percent increase in salaries and wages for all permanent and non-permanent staff to enable the company to compete with other private telecoms firms after its privatisation.
The increase followed the cabinet's decision in January to let CAT Telecom set its own pay scales and benefits.
A company source said a 10 percent increase would be given to all staff retroactive to Jan 13, with the remaining 10 percent given after CAT Telecom introduces a KPI (Key Performance Indicator) system to assess work performances at all positions.
