Apr. 5--Leading chicken companies have revived and accelerated their expansion plans to cope with the expected pickup in exports, especially processed meat to the Japanese market.
Charoen Pokphand Foods, Betagro Group and Saha Farms are among the companies that have pushed forward plans to build more plants to produce heat-treated chicken products and ready-made meals.
Last week, CPF announced that its 8.5-billion-baht poultry complex in Nakhon Ratchasima would become operational in June with a capacity to slaughter two million chickens a week and produce about 250,000 tonnes of meat a year for the domestic and export markets.
