Xenia, Ohio, Bookstore to Shut Down after 27 Years.

Jan. 18--XENIA, Ohio -- When Alan Liming decided to close his Xenia bookstore after 27 years, he held a members-only going-out-of-business sale.

The members, who paid an annual fee to get a discount and were some of Liming's most loyal customers, showered him with condolences. Liming said it was the worst part of the closure process.

"It was like a funeral wake," he said. The close-out sale, now open to the public, will continue through Jan. 24, and Fine Print Books will officially shut down Jan. 31.

But Liming, who's saying goodbye to a business he's owned for most of his adult life, seemed surprisingly chipper at the store last week. He talked about going out at the right time, the road ahead and the joys of running a …
