Jan. 23--MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Flat-lining former front-runner Howard Dean launched a TV offensive yesterday to quell the fallout from his admittedly "over-the-top" I Have A Scream speech.
A subdued Dean cracked self-deprecating jokes, did David Letterman's Top Ten on ways he can recover (No. 10: "switch to decaf"), and sat with his publicity-shy wife for a warm-and-fuzzy interview with Diane Sawyer.
