ALI VELSHI, CNNfn ANCHOR, THE MONEY GANG: Now for a check on some of today`s top stories outside of the business world, Iraqi militants have killed South Korean hostage Kim Sun-Il . The 33 year old businessman was abducted late Thursday outside of Baghdad. The report comes as South Korea urges its civilian workers in Iraq to leave the country. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Seoul to condemn South Korea`s plan to send more troops to Iraq. So far the government is not backing away from its decision.
After several hours of intense fighting, Russian troops earlier today were able to quell insurgent attacks in Southern Russia. Rebels launched coordinated attacks on at least three towns along border of Chechnya. Rebels attempted to seize government building. But according to Russian officials at least 47 people were killed, including the acting head of the interior ministry in the region.
And former President Bill Clinton`s highly-anticipated autobiography hit book stores today despite mixed reviews from critics. Hundred of fans in several states lined up for copies of the 957-page book at midnight. Clinton devotes a dozen pages to his affair with Monica Lewinsky. And admits his regret of never being able to catch Osama bin Laden. (INAUDIBLE) printed 1.5 million hard cover copies of the book. The most ever for a work of non-fiction.
Critics are giving it mixed reviews. I mean, it`s not a piece of literature.
