May 4--Recent hiccups and delays notwithstanding, state enterprise privatisation will continue, according to Deputy Prime Minister Suchart Jaovisidha.

Mr Suchart, during a visit yesterday to the Industry Ministry, said the privatisation plan would help reduce the government's public-debt burden, help state enterprises stand on their own feet and make raising funds for future expansion easier.

More importantly, he insisted that since the plan had already been proclaimed as a government policy, it could not be cancelled.
