May 4--Deutsche Telekom plans to make Thailand a hub for providing telecom-related services to customers in the Asia-Pacific region, a move which could help bring the country closer to its goal of creating a knowledge-based economy.
Somphong Wanapha, the secretary-general of the Board of Investment, said Europe's largest communications company had already submitted its investment proposal to the BoI.
Mr Somphong said the project would be located in Greater Bangkok where the required infrastructure is sufficiently developed to serve high-speed communication networks.
