May 7--Rising tin prices in recent months reflect an upward trend in the market, according to Anusorn Nuengpholmark, director-general of the Department of Primary Industries and Mines.
The market has shown remarkable improvement since late last year, he said, adding that prices on the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) continued to rise from January to April.
Average prices reached US$7,570 per tonne in March -- up from $6,520 in January -- before hitting $9,500 early last month.
