May 7--The Kwang Soon Lee group, the operator of Khon Kaen Sugar Industry Plc (KKSI), the first sugar mill to plan a listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, plans to invest up to two billion baht in energy, chemical and fertiliser projects by using sugar production by-products as raw materials.

Group managing director Chamroon Chinthammit said that all of the projects, located in Khon Kaen, would be completed within three years.

The projects include a one-billion-baht investment to improve its 30-Megawatt bagasse-fuelled power plant under the small power producer programme. Bagasse is a by-product of the sugarcane ...
