May 7--Samsung plans to convert its plant in Thailand into a world production base for high-end home appliances featuring the Silver Nano Health System, a new technology that kills bacteria, mold and germs in washing machines and air-conditioners.
Jae-Bong Choi, managing director of Thai Samsung Electronics Co, said the South Korean company had chosen Thailand because the necessary infrastructure to support a home appliance production base has already been in place for several years.
