May 7--The new Thai-South Asia Business Forum needs to address the diversity and information gap that exists between the two sides before the huge opportunities of the combined market of 1.4 billion people could be exploited, according to Foreign Minister Surakiart Sathirathai.
The Thai government's Look West policy is in full support of the forum, which aims to forge stronger ties with South Asian nations which has a growing upper class of 10-15 percent per year, the Thai foreign minister said at the forum's launch late last month.
