May 21--TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida taxpayers will save $95 million this summer through gas and sales tax holidays signed into law Thursday by Gov. Jeb Bush.

The measure reduces the state gas tax by 8 cents per gallon during August and eliminates sales taxes for nine days this summer on items of clothing under $50 and school supplies and books under $10, again per item. It also authorizes advertisements touting the tax relief package.
