May 6--Plans remain intact for the opening of a Big C discount store in Pattani in November despite mounting concern about violence in the country's three southernmost provinces, according to Central Retail Corporation (CRC).
Though fewer tourists are visiting the region, local shoppers are likely to continue going to the Hat Yai branches of the company's Tops Supermarket, Central and Robinson department stores and Big C, said CRC chief executive Tos Chirathivat.
"They are our major clientele," he said, expressing optimism that the situation could soon be restored.
