May 6--Proponents of holistic medicine are determined to establish Chiang Mai as a regional centre of alternative medicine, building on the north's long history of traditional medicines and treatments.

The move has received strong support from Chiang Mai's Public Health Office as it is in line with government policy to promote the city as a health and medical hub, offering medical and dental care, spa treatments and traditional medicines.

As a first step Chiangmai University played host to the first World Congress of Holistic Medicine from April 23-25, organised by the Suchada Marwah Centre and the International Academy of Natural Sciences. The conference received active support from ...
