May 8--The National Housing Authority (NHA) is looking into buying some 200 condominium units in the Muang Thong Thani project for redevelopment in the next phase of the government's low-cost housing project, according to Sorawut Tangkapon, the agency's deputy governor.
The condominium units, now held by the Government Housing Bank (GHB), were pledged as collateral for the project, which was developed by Bangkok Land and later went into default. The NHA expects to finalise talks with the GHB over the next two weeks.
