May 8--Talks on a free-trade agreement between Thailand and the United States will begin in late June, according to Pongpanu Svetaundra, deputy director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office.
The negotiations, to begin in Hawaii, will take place every two months, with at least seven or eight rounds expected before a final agreement is reached.
Talks will be based on individual sectors, with each sector split further into different product groups, such as agricultural, industrial or textile categories.
