RAYNAL: A good car at a stiff price. I like the way the car looks and I was impressed with the chassis; way less shaky and wobbly than I thought it would be. The build quality seems first-rate. The auto trans sucks some of the power out of the turbo four, an engine I like a lot. Doesn't feel like 210 hp, but it's got decent mid-range poke once the revs get up over three grand, and it will cruise happily at 80 mph all day.
This Saab 9-3 was a pleasant surprise, all except the price.
MORRISON: Stiff price is right. I like this 9-3 ragtop, and while it's priced in the same relative range as its competition, I don't think I would throw down nearly $50 large on it.
