May 26--R.B. Price Jr. created a lasting legacy of generosity by starting a community trust fund, and his family still is helping not-for-profit organizations in Boone County.

The Boone County Community Trust will celebrate 30 years of helping local charities next month. This week, the trust announced recipients of this year's grants, which total $59,474.88.

"We're doing things that enable people to help other people and make lives in Boone County perhaps a little bit better," said Albert Price, nephew of R.B. Price Jr.

Price Jr., who died in 1978 at age 96, started the endowed trust in 1974 as a $650,000 bequest ...
