Jun. 11--Utahns who leased Ford vehicles from 1991 through 1994 may be eligible for $100 refunds as part of a nationwide settlement designed to compensate customers who paid too much to end their leases early.

Ford Motor Co. and 1,300 Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealers, including four in Utah, will pay $6.2 million to settle allegations that dealers overcharged consumers who terminated their leases in order to buy their vehicles outright. In addition to the penalty, Ford and the dealers will notify about 150,000 customers in Utah and 37 other states that they may be eligible for the $100 checks.
