WASHINGTON -- Tazarotene cream was better than tretinoin emollient cream for the global improvement of photodamaged facial skin in a study of 157 patients, although the difference was not statistically significant as treatment progressed.

The results confirmed the findings of a previous study with fewer patients, Dr. Nicholas J. Lowe reported in a poster at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology.
