Jun. 5--The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) has called for the Industry Ministry to temporarily ease sulphur content limits in fuel oil as a way to reduce the cost of electricity generation and ease the financial burden the utility faces if the government continues with its policy to freeze utility prices.
Narongsak Wichetpan, Egat's acting governor, said the utility would bear a burden of 100 million baht a month if the energy adjustment tariff, known as Ft, in power bills for the period from June to September was frozen.
