Jun. 5--Three major carmakers are proposing to develop eco-car production in Thailand, according to Wanlop Tiesitri, the director of the Thailand Automotive Institute.

He said Honda, General Motors and Suzuki Motors proposed to the Industry Ministry to each produce at least 100,000 units within two years after starting operations.

The government's eco car criteria call for a compact vehicle with Euro 4 emission standards and fuel consumption of one litre per 18 km. The engine must be able to accept bio-fuels such as gasohol, an ...
