Jun. 5--Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) Plc (KEST), the country's largest securities broker, is confident it will maintain its leadership in the brokerage industry despite a challenge from Asia Plus Securities, the merged entity between ABM Amro Asia Securities and Asset Plus Securities.

In the first quarter of this year, KEST held a 12.09 percent market share of total trading turnover. ABN Amro had 6.94 percent and Asset Plus 2.79 percent, and after their merger, which took place last month, their market share was still lower than 10 percent.
