Dunlop Tire Corp. will continue to sponsor the Dunlop Pro-Am Awards Dinner even as it moves ahead with efforts to cut $25 million from corporate costs.
Officials termed Dunlop's link with the annual event, which marks its 20th anniversary next year, a civic responsibility.
The question, however, will become moot if the company closes the Town of Tonawanda plant -- a definite possibility, some industry experts say. The plant was struck Oct. 21 by members of United Rubber Workers Local 135.
