2004 JUN 9 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Some Missouri parents are pledging to keep pushing for legislation banning mercury in immunizations, despite their failure this year in the state Legislature.
Some parents and advocates believe that mercury and the mercury-based preservative thimerosal is linked to a nationwide rise in autism, hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder. They want the state to ban mercury and thimerosal from being included in childhood vaccines.
The House approved the legislation in March, but it failed to come to a vote in the Senate.
