Jun. 4--The financial crisis at Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will not affect the auto giant's 21-billion-baht plan to develop a production facility for one-tonne pickup trucks in Thailand, the new president of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Co said yesterday.
Hisayoshi Kumai, who succeeded Mr Toshiyuki Yamanishi, also said plans to expand the company's Thai unit to become a global production base for light trucks will not be affected, nor will there be local job losses, even though the Japanese auto maker recently announced plans to to cut its workforce worldwide.
