Oil Falls Over $2, Back Below $40

1July crude dived $2.37 a barrel to $39.96 a barrel as several OPEC members signaled support for the Saudi plan to up cartel quotas by 10.6% on Thursday. On Tuesday, terror fears drove up oil by $2.45 to $42.25, the highest since Nymex began futures 21 years ago.
