Jun. 2--The Home Builders Club will upgrade itself to an association in an attempt to expand its share of the 30-billion-baht home construction market, according to club chairman Pramote Thiraku.
With 20 founding members, the association is likely to be set up within six months. Its goal will be to create public awareness about the distinction between reliable home contractors and small individual builders so consumers will have more information when they go to hire builders. Though home building firms have been in the market for 40 years, most consumers still tended to hire individual contractors instead, said Mr Pramote.
