School's almost out, and that means you'll soon have more time to play. With that in mind, we asked students in Ms. Spiteri's second-grade class at Bemis Elementary School in Troy to help test some new toys.

We tested eight great toys that represent different kinds of play. All of them are new for the summer season.

* Hot Wheels Formula Fuelers Racers (Mattel, about $19.99): These cool cars were the hit of the test. Kids loved the idea behind them. You mix any liquid--water or a sports drink--to make a fuel for the car. Put in the fuel and vrooom, your car is ready to go. Everyone had fun and wanted to be part of the pit crew, creating fuel concoctions.

* HitClips Discs (Tiger, about $9.99): HitClips have been around for a few years but this year the mini-music systems look more like the CD-players you listen to all the time. Sydney Heath said, "This is really fun."

* Scooby-Doo: Bedtime Scooby Plush (Equity Marketing): This plush dog that talks when you squeeze the ear is ready for a summer slumber party, dressed in his PJs.
