Jun. 1--SOME HR HINTS FOR FOREIGNERS FILMING IN THAILAND: The Thai government is becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of attracting foreign film producers to shoot their movies in the kingdom. Several promotions by the Tourism Authority of Thailand have been successful in attracting such Hollywood feature films as Around the World in 80 Days, Alexander the Great, Bridget Jones 2 and others.

However, there are still a number of obstacles in the way of attracting foreign productions to Thailand.

This article will look at three challenges: immigration, labour and tax.

--Immigration: All foreigners are required to obtain an appropriate visa if they are to work in Thailand even for one day. Most individuals planning to work here would normally apply for a non-immigrant type B visa prior to arrival.
