Byline: DOUG TSURUOKA
Geoffrey Bonn knew it was for real.
As an MBA student at the University of Chicago, he was used to poring over data in case studies.
But when MedSpeed, a small Chicago-based health care logistics company hired him as a summer intern two years ago, the San Diego native had to muster everything he knew about customer needs and financial analysis to crack a real-world business problem.
At the time, Bonn was 29 and was already fascinated with what he calls "the intersection of health care and business."
Before grad school, he and a friend had set up a venture capital firm that invested in early-stage biotech companies.
The results: Lessons and insights that can help all small businesses.
