Game accessories include everything from extra controllers to DVD remotes that connect to any hardware that plays video games, from consoles like Sony's PlayStation 2 to handheld devices and PCs.
The accessories market is big. "It's roughly a $1.3 billion business," said Richard Ow, senior industry analyst with NPD Group.
Ow says that's 12%-13% of the video game market, including hardware and software.
In 2003, U.S. retail sales remained flat, but that doesn't tell the story of what's hot and what's not.
