Aid lands in flood-ravaged Haiti

Helicopters loaded with drinking water and medicine touched down in remote villages devastated by the deadliest floods in recent memory. Haiti's official death toll rose to 579. The Dominican Republic recovered at least 442 bodies, many of them Haitian migrants. With hundreds missing, the final toll could hit 2,000 on the Hispaniola island.
