May 29--Want some vitamin C with your soft drink?
In another new spin for the U.S. soda business, Cadbury Schweppes is working on a "fortified" version of 7Up --- tentatively called "7Up Plus" --- that would be low in calories and possibly spiked with vitamin C and calcium.
Beverage Digest said the new product would be a first in modern times for the big three soft drink makers: Coca-Cola, Pepsico and Cadbury Schweppes.
It's also a sign of efforts to renew interest in carbonated soft drinks, which have lost favor with more and more health-conscious consumers.
